Amber Vanluffelen

Amber Vanluffelen

Amber Vanluffelen (1991) is a talented young visual artist who studied in situ at the Academy of Antwerp. Recently, she has won the creative competition for young artists organised by the Middelheim promotors with a remarkable project. Her submission’s subject matter was the boundary between public and private. By having the public space penetrate the museum, Amber Vanluffelen created a space in-between with its own separate identity.
A jury selected Amber Vanluffelen for the third edition of STRT Kit, a one-year-course which serves as a platform for the international development of the art practice.

At HORST Arts & Music she will create a new site-specific work as a place for performance and dance. HORST believes Vanluffelen has the skills to realise a new and powerful intervention on the Horst castle site and is keen to use this collaboration to help this promising new artist in making her way.
