Our mothership Onkruid Studio is looking for extra hands. Or brains to be more precise. Onkruid Studio develops projects at the intersection of music, art, architecture and urban development. Through initiatives such as Horst Arts & Music and Asiat Park, we create spaces where culture, experimentation and human connection can thrive. Behind these projects lies a financial operation that deserves just as much attention. That’s why we’re looking for a Financial Controller who can bring structure, ensure reliable financial data and look ahead. What will you do?

You will help manage the day-to-day financial operations of Onkruid Studio and its projects. You combine a solid accounting foundation with an understanding of cash flow, budgets and financial performance. You ensure that information is available on time and translate financial data into actionable insights for the team.

Financial administration and payments

- You are responsible for the internal accounting of all organisations within Onkruid Studio.

- You manage purchase and sales invoices, ensuring they are processed, recorded and allocated to the correct budgets.

- You organise outgoing invoicing, follow up on outstanding customer payments and monitor payment deadlines.

- You prepare payment schedules based on available cash flow and agreed priorities, and prepare payments for approval.

- You coordinate with the external accountant, ensuring that all documentation is complete and ready on time for financial closings and tax filings.

Reporting, cash flow and budgets

- Together with the external accountant, you ensure reliable and timely monthly financial reporting.

- You update cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis, flagging potential shortfalls, risks and changes in advance.

- You monitor project budgets together with project managers. You combine actual costs, committed expenditure and expected income to maintain an up-to-date overview of projected final results.

- You investigate variances and identify where adjustments are needed.

- You support the Financial Director in preparing financial forecasts and providing the financial analysis required for funding applications.

Systems and events

- You oversee the financial setup and data quality of our systems (Odoo), with a focus on analytical accounting, project codes and consistent data processing.

- You improve processes and establish clear agreements on who provides which information and when.

- You organise cash management for events, from preparation and monitoring to reconciling cash and payment records and completing the financial settlement.

- You help identify the administrative support required and organise the division of tasks to ensure timely processing and reporting.

Who will you work with?

- You will work closely with the Financial Director and Managing Director on priorities, financial monitoring, quality control, forecasts and funding applications.

- You collect and connect information from across the business team. Together with project managers, you monitor budgets and expected results. The external accountant will be your regular partner for accounting and tax-related matters.

Who are you?

- You have a solid foundation in accounting and experience in accounting, controlling or a broad financial role. We have at least three years of experience in mind, but your independence and skills matter more than the exact number of years.

- You combine accuracy with analytical thinking. You understand how accounting, project results and cash flow are connected.

- You are confident using Excel or Google Sheets and financial software. Experience with Odoo is a strong asset.

- You bring structure, follow up on agreements and proactively request missing information.

- You communicate clearly about financial matters, including with colleagues who do not have a financial background.

- You flag potential issues early and help develop practical solutions.

- You feel at home in a project-based environment with diverse activities and busy periods. Experience in culture, events or an organisation with multiple legal entities is a plus.

- You have an affinity with what Onkruid does. You don't need to come from the sector, but you are curious about the work behind our projects.
