Every season, a new club takes form through the hands of hundreds: builders, bar crew, scenographers, caretakers, performers, visitors, light operators, and door hosts. Together they form a breathing network: a constellation of minds through which the club keeps unfurling in new directions. Since its beginnings in 2023, Horst Club has been an ongoing exploration of what a perfect club could be.
‘Club Stories’, our new editorial series, pulls back the curtain on the many people shaping that process. What began as an experiment has grown into a collective practice - a club built through trial, error, and shared intention. Imperfection here isn’t a flaw, but a method: a way of learning by doing, again and again.

Through the Horst Atelier, scenographers, light designers, artists, and volunteers from across the world come together to imagine and build the spaces where we gather. What begins as sketches and conversations comes alive through communal buildup weeks: a process that values collaboration, curiosity, and care as much as craft.
This same spirit runs through every corner of the renewed club. From those who hold space for softness, to those who stretch time itself; designing for rest as much as for movement, and for performers who expand what the dance floor can hold. Their stories remind us that a club is never static, but something that breathes and evolves.

So… High time we start giving credit where it’s due: to the faces who dream the spaces, hold the energy, and bring the night to life in ways most might never see. The unsung voices with loud visions who keep the club in constant motion.
Over the coming months, we’ll shine a light on those whose work often stays unseen: the gestures, the details, the care, the craft. Offering the floor to the people and perspectives shaping the (im)perfect club.

“What’s so amazing about dance floors is bringing together all of these people that are different, but you have this one shared interest, which is that you want to be in this moment in time together.”
