With Black Gravity Dance, DTM Funk brings a performance concept to Horst 2026 that deliberately shifts the focus away from the DJ booth and back onto the floor. Born from his long-standing question of why street dance communities were underrepresented at house events, the project reaffirms that club culture is fundamentally driven by dancers and their physical expression. Alongside world-class house dancers Samantha Mavinga, Serge Medard, and Joffrey Anane, DTM Funk creates a space for live improvisation and collective energy. By literally and figuratively shining the spotlight on the dancers, the dance floor reclaimed as the beating heart of the experience, where the crowd is invited to join in and become part of the movement.
A central figure in Belgium’s electronic music scene and a staple on the European club circuit, DTM Funk continues his mission to honor the legacy of Black club music. This project is an extension of his ongoing work as a curator and founder of the label San-Kofa Rhythm, emphasizing the deep connection between rhythm and the traditions of Black dance culture. At Horst 2026, expect DTM Funk to find the common denominator between soul, groove, and heritage, bridging the gap between the decks and the dancers in a powerful tribute to the roots of house music.
