It’s almost impossible to pin a style on Bristol-based DJ i-sha’s selections. You could say her common language is the full spectrum of experimental soundsystem music, grounded in dubwise principles of negative space, physical pressure and adventurous sonics. You could all it outsider music, drawing on abrasive noise and thunderous rhythms as much as delicate mantras and plaintive phrases. Whatever it is, it’s all bound together by deft, daring transitions and pure conviction, always in pursuit of something fresh and compelling. i-sha can be found doing all this as a core member of the collective Accidental Meetings and across an array of club nights, festivals, art events, labels, radio shows and more, all with open-hearted enthusiasm.
